The Bionic Ear Institute’s vision is to become the world’s leading medical bionics research institute and make Australia the medical bionics capital of the world. The Institute’s area of research has now expanded to 3 research horizons, Bionic Hearing, Bionic Vision, and Neurobionics. It needed a new name and visual identity to reflect this exciting vision and to be able to position the Institute as the world expert in the field of bionics.

Glancing at the website, as I suspected, the sound wave stuff makes for a sweet complimentary graphic and extension of the visual identity. I just don’t care for how it’s used as a logo. Conceptually it’s solid, it’s just that every time I see some thing like this, my mind goes to the AOL identity I’m not crazy about.

This logo is interesting and a bit different. I think it works well for the intended purpose.

Not a fan. It just screams at me, not in a polite way. Would have played better if its using the B from the logotype.
