Norwich Cathedral needed a new brand identity to be applied across printed literature, website and signage. Our inspiration was Norwich Cathedral’s famous spire, which we brought to life, initially in their identity, and subsequently across a host of printed and digital media. It won us ‘Best Graphic Designers’ in the East of England at the ‘Creative East Awards’ in 2009. See the logo in context here.

Not the greatest fan of text not spanning to the edges of the above logo name, but a neat little effect with the spire :)

personally, i think text always spanning to uniform width is a mistake designers make early on… i used to do it all the time and now find marques like this one have more depth and weight to the them when kerning is used appropriately, not as a rule. i love this. i think it’s absolutely excellent.

Copperplate Gothic never looked so good! Good job on using a fairly tired typeface in a new and effective way.

(I have to agree with boxerdude on the word ‘CATHEDRAL’ — it looks fine not stretched all the way across.)
