They “represents the global creative, design and advertising communities and celebrates brilliance in commercial creativity” and this is the logo they came up with?? It misses the mark completely.

I can understand the logo in terms of its representation, but I must admit that it is not really that special. Given the name ‘Design & Art Direction’ I think it could have been better graphically portrayed.

\Logo of the Day\, really? … I guess that’s better than it winning \Logo of the Week\. I’ll have to \second the motion\ on Freedom Studio’s and Boxerdude’s comments.

I really like it. It puts me in mind of the jaunty lines of the 2012 Olympics logo – a bit haphazard looking at first but on a second and third reading, the rhythm kicks in. It will look fantastic on promo materials.

its about as bad as the Olympic london 2012 logo…

It’s a cross-section of a pencil and the letters are the graphite/lead. IMO, the letters in a circular configuration would have looked cleaner.

@Andrew Grehl: Very good observation, I hadn’t noticed that. Yeah, I see it. That definitely helps lend more credibility to the design style chosen. Thanks

For a creative association, I imagine a different kind of logo… more coloured, more visionaire…

i like it – timeless – and they had the balls to go for the jaunty letter configuration – but then i like london 2012 :s

Not sure about this one. I understand that the others have said it is a cross section of a pencil etc. but really doesn’t grab me at all.
