Galerie Faruk is a store located in Hanau since 1997 which sells exclusive home decoration products and oriental carpets. They are going to move their store to another place in the city and wanted to have a complete new luxurious and elegant look. Their old logotype is based on the URW++’s legendary font Davida and a crown symbol. We have created a new custom script hand-lettering to give Galerie Faruk an original, elegant and classy look.”

The Rolex crown ripoff ruins it. It’s huge, clunky and ugly.

Personally I think the crown works alright here. They get across the oriental feeling fairly clearly with the crown. The hand-lettering paired with the all-caps underneath does give over a very “fine”, top-of-the-line feeling. Overall, seems fairly successful.

@Robbins,

Easy man. Please be a bit respectful. The client wanted to keep their 14 year old Crown symbol. I didn’t design the symbol, just revised it. Please see the whole presentation on my site.

@Chana,
Thank you.

@Jacob,
Thanks again for the feature.

At first I didn’t like the crown but after seeing it in use on the website, it is growing on me. Still, the script font is beautiful and I like the custom san serif font for the slogan. They work together nicely without the crown.

Custom hand drawn lettering amazes me. It is an art form all unto itself. I’d love to know more about the process behind this one.

I didn’t mean any disrespect. Just offering some honest opinions. I admit I didn’t see the presentation. The typography is elegant, modern, and beautiful, and the crown seems out of place. Cheers.

I think that the logo is elegant and classy. It definitley provides a feeling of exclusivity or sorts. Great work :)
