Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2011-01-21 | Ed & Bethan

“This was an unusual project for me, in that the client that I needed to satisfy was my future wife. The ‘logo’ was to used on all of wedding stationery and ‘marketing material (invites, save the date cards, thank you notes, RSVP form, gift list, table plan and wedding album). A little fed up of seeing horribly design invitations and table plans, I set about trying to create a unique identity for our special day. Huge thanks must go to my wife Bethan for allowing me to forgo the usual traditions of wedding stationery (script fonts, floral patterns …). It all went down very well with our guests. The table plan, especially, caused great confusion.”

Yay, conventional font and conventional swirly ampersand…
Boring logo of the day.

ampersand seems to be clashing with the type too much for my liking:(

I’ve seen this concept done way too many times (name & name; 1st name on top, ampersand on the right/behind of the 1st name, 2nd name on the base). Boring

I’d like to see more interaction between the ampersand and the letters (maybe poking through the ‘t’ and over the ‘h’ for instance) All in all it’s a decent job well done. It’s hard to be simple and brave with a logo, I think you’ve succeeded here.

@OscarLopez If it’s been done “too many times”, then it clearly works, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s ‘boring’ because it’s a popular execution. Something to bear in mind?
