I kinda wish they wouldn’t have done the gradients. The shape they’ve made is awesome and it really doesn’t need it.

A design should be visually pleasing… and functional… I cannot see any relation between the overall look of the design and the communication which is intended to be done.

I like it, but agrees that the gradient isn’t necessary. I think gradients in logoes is a (quite big) trend now that will change in few years time.

Ariel: I dont’t think a logo necessarily have to reflect what they do. Take Nike, Apple and McDonalds as some well known examples. When the branding is well done then people will recognise the logo, wheter it reflects what they do or not.

Yeah Marius, there are many designers whose agree with your point, it could be the subject of a discussion somewhere in the blogsphere again….. BTW, you said Nike, right? it simply illustrates the key idea – movement. and that’s the core of the Nike brand, right?
