Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2010-09-30 | Shaping Australia

This ‘Shaping Australia‘ logo is for a newly launched site dedicated to featuring the many and varied logos that currently and have previously feature the distinctive map of Australia. With a new logo featured daily, the Shaping Australia concept is to evoke thought and dialogue about the hundreds of Australia logos and the relevance or otherwise behind the use of the Australia shape. The Shaping Australia symbol is deliberately formed by simple geometric triangles which aesthetically work to make the map of Australia. The vibrant colours reflect the many versions of the Australia logos that feature on the site with the deliberate move away from the traditional green and gold national colours.

It’s a nice concept, but I immediately thought of: https://www.melbourne.vic.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx when I saw it.

One day I would love to see an Australian logo that isn’t in the shape of Australia. Just for a change.
Nice execution though.
But I’m not so sure about that ‘G’.

Love the colours, I think it reflects the idea of the site well.
