“In 1992, City of Xiamen, China needed to upgrade its phone # from 6 digits to 7 digits, by adding “0″ after the 1st digit. To promote the event, the city’s Post and Telecom Bureau held a city-wide logo design competition. This was the winning logo and was used for the promotion.
I designed the logo by incorporating “6″ and “7″ into a phone handset (with cord) to signify the transition, also seen is “0″ being inserted after 1st digit. Both colors were from the logo of then China Post and Telecom (of which the city’s Post and Telecom Bureau was a branch).”

Great concept. Unfortunately, the execution is not as great as it could have been. It should be stronger, have more impact.
The ideas there, but the image of the phone is just floating there. it’s positioning is unrealistic, so it makes it very unappealing.
yeah, not crazy about it either, unbalanced and not very scalable
great idea, but did not get the “7″ until the third look at it…
I’m not crazy about the execution either, but given the assignment, this is a great, unique solution. Had the elements been pulled together a little tighter, this could be an exceptional logo!
Not my thing at all, to much tiny repetitive things.
