I like the logo, but wouldn’t have noticed the letters C, U, P.

A nice logo, which conveys a high quality message well.

niceley done… I can see the word Coffee easier than Cup but I think that it is less relevant.

Color pattern is perfect for the situation, concept is ideal and the artistic value is great. The only downpoint is that the C in coffee looks more like another E.

if we could give half marks, I’d give it 4.5/5

Very nice logo. I wouldn’t have noticed the CUP without the description but I don’t think its necessary. The “COFFEE” looks great and as a whole I think the logo is excellent.

Agree with DCHUCK, the “C” in the word “Coffee” looks like an “e”. Otherwise, nice!

The “cup” thing is pushing it too far – don’t tell people about that and it is still a nice logo – explaining the “cup” thing makes it too complicated/convoluted… KIS!
I think I have seen this logo before – it is not a real brand is it? (ie. used in the real world).
I also see a monkey face when I stare at it too long… tehe.. but i’m weird..

Very nice – although I have to go with the majority that the word ‘CUP’ isnt’ so obvious. However, since a logo is something you look at a lot – you might pick it up after a while which gives it that little ‘extra’ interest.

Other than that – it’s just lovely! Well done!

I am glad you like coffee. Cup is not so important its just playing with typography. That idea with leters C/U/P combination similarity with coffee mug was my first point of inspiration. COFFE title came as second. And anon, yes, you are right, this is not real mark at this moment. It was born as a concept, practice on logo design. I believe that one day it brings good solution for branding to some people from coffee business. If you are interested, you can find more details of this logo on my site. Thank you very much, respected designers for your support and comments and Jacob, Jeff thanks for puting my second logo here. It means a lot for me.

We all love coffee.. but this idea of making the lettering with the smoke/vapour of the coffe is a little bit worn out.. i’ve seen other logos of coffee with the same concept. But in general this one is very well achieved and balanced. 7.5/10

“Logo for coffee house Coffee CUP where high quality coffee is served.”

This is a logo concept right? Aren’t you selling this logo for $680.00? In hopes that someone with this name will purchase this?

Anyways. This is a pretty sweet looking illustration/typography. It’s very creative and I would love to see a coffee shop named “Coffee Cup” start using this and maybe they will serve high quality coffee! :)

Logo of the day is a high-profile logo design award scheme that rewards the best professional logos and trademarks designed throughout the world.

Ok this logo does not meet the criteria describe above. Therefore this shouldn’t even be shown on this site nor be considered a Logo of the Month. Its not a professional logo and its not trademarked. Its a made up identity.

I’ve noticed on this site a few too many logos are made up identities. Why not start showcasing student work? At least we will know its nothing more then a home work assignment.

FUNNY: “We all are students, forever on this job”, and people love this logo. It brings inspiration, I hope so. And that is the most important thing on it. On other way I believe that this logo become real identity in short time, it has own soul, it is like magnet. It not become lost in drawer. After true owner will find it fitting his visions perfectly, he put it into real business, it is ready job and it is matter of time. I want thank you all respected designers for such a good acceptance. It means a lot for me. You motivate me to do my job best way I can. I learned working on this project, that most important thing on design is, to join form and function perfectly together, execute it with passion and bring people positive emotion throught it. Make them fall in love with it. That is important. When doing this job for clients, it is much harder, that is true. You require communications skills and some endurance above designing. But such a things as practice on logo design with free mind make us, designers stronger in real business, improve our skills and lead us to better quality of ourselves and results of our work. And after all this great site is the place, where designers can find inspiration, its written on the top of the page under the logo, so it is not in conflict with conceptual work … Have a good coffee :-) Jan

Jan–
“We all are students, forever on this job” I will have to disagree with that. At least in my opinion I don’t feel that I’m a student in my career. If anything I am confident when showing my work to clients and in most cases show clients what works and what doesn’t. and Educated my clients as well as other designers I work with on my team. To feel that you’re a student forever in this seems odd to me. Don’t get me wrong we can all learn new things no matter how much we know or think we know as designers but that’s about it.

“Coffee Cup” is not a real identity so no matter how many “inspiration” web sites you send this to it still will not become a real identity unless someone pays the $680.00 you’re selling this for and maybe the look of your design will be just what they’re looking for. I will also note that your description makes people believe that it is in fact for a real legit coffee shop named Coffee Cup.

Coming up with concept designs for fun isn’t a bad thing in fact it’s great to do. You have the freedom to do what ever you want without having to worry about anything along with the target audience etc. A lot goes into designing a logo and developing a brand. There are many factors that come in to play even down to the choice of colors, fonts, imagery and the reason behind each choice you make.

Don’t get me wrong you made a nice illustration of a cup that works nicely with the word coffee. That’s it. It’s a stretch to say that it spells out “cup” I like it. Along with many others.

Maybe I think to literal with things to think that this site would be showcasing logos that are in fact real legit brands.

“Logo Of The Day is a high-profile logo design award scheme that rewards the best professional logos and trademarks designed throughout the world. All suggested logos are screened by our two judges Jacob Cass & Jeff Fisher to ensure this.”

Correct me if i’m wrong but I don’t see anywhere in that description the words “conceptual work”

Take Logo Pong for example. You can post ANYTHING you want on that site. conceptual designs to logos that never made the cut to made up identities.

Maybe Jaccob and Jeff don’t mind showcasing conceptual designs. If that’s the case then fine. It would be nice to see some of your non conceptual logo/design work.

Best,
Tom

Welllll, I just saw this logo last night here and thought about it all night. I fell in love with it immediately. I have been searching for a logo for my coffeehouse for about two years now and just bought it from the link above today. I, and those I asked today, thought it was evocative, trendy, elegant, and fun! I’m so happy I ran across this site and saw that logo on a whim!

Ron. You’re going to change the name of your coffee shop from coffee exchange to coffee cup? That’s brilliant.hahaha Wouldn’t it be better if Jan designs one with your coffee shop name with this same illustration style?
So does Jacob get a finders fee?

Tom > OK, you wont´t feel like a student. I accept that. Maybe word student is not exact term, but hope you agree, that we are learnig whole life. As the earth rotate we all must turn around in business and not become static. Even if we feel as champions or masters of design.
Funny > I dont think it is necessary. It could be used as subbrand or it can be completed with title as the name of coffe shop. It depends on Ron, how he use it.

Nevermind the drama I wanted to congradulate Jan for his Logo of the Month award. this past month was highly competitive.

of course we are students throughout our careers. technology/software continues to change and sometimes improve, you keep up on trends whether you decide to follow them or not, you visit sites like this and others for inspiration, hopefully you learn from mistakes, you research your client’s industries to know how best to help them, and you practice/practice/practice your talent or watch it rust! but then maybe you are the idiot savant of graphic design. if you aren’t constantly learning, then you must still be using the same software and computer you’ve had since you started your career, use the same basic fonts, follow the same basic guides outlined by a mentor or teacher without ever improving on them, etc. this does not mean you should not be proud of your talent and design skill, but without education and experience, talent and skill are simply useless. yes, I am proud to say I am still a student in my career and life. the day I’m not is the day I’m too old for this career and must then retire as a greeter for wally world.
