Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2008-12-29 | Guild of Food Writers

Designed in 2005 by 300million, one of the UK’s top agencies. The creative directors were Matt Baxter and Martin Lawless, with Katie Morgan and Natalie Bennett working as logo designers.

The website is not so great…

This one is just GREAT. I love it, straight to the point.

Ohh… And the website looks really poor. I hate when a great logo lives in some cave.

This is so very clever–couldn’t be simpler than that!

I love the concept, only I would create a fork instead of a spoon ;)

This logo is awesome. I love the simplicity. Just two symbols, one simple shape in black.

I’ve seen this one before and I loved it then. :D I would like to see it with a fork too … just to see the contrast.

add me to the “love it” list!

To those who would have liked to have seen a fork instead of a spoon, that would have meant less of a connection to a true nibbed fountain pen and would have made it ‘less clever’ in my books.

Wow… this is a perfect example of how plain & simple can easily transcend into sophisticated & elegant.

Simple enough to make me confusing :D

Nice design

I really like this one. I’d love to see what typeface they use with it though, like when it’s in use on a business card or a letterhead.

I like the icon. But thats all it is right now. Even on 300’s site, it’s just an icon. I’d like to see how they planned to have type fit into this because I am assuming that what’s on the guild’s site wasn’t what they wanted.

I wonder if 300 Million pitched them the idea of having a website designed aswell? Or maybe they did and The Guild didn’t go for it… who knows, brilliant logo though. Excellent execution, it’s what i’ve come to expect from the 300 Million guys.

UGH! What an awesome logo used on such a horrible-looking site! Before I visited the site, I saw a nice, clean white site with classic black and white with flash. I was really disappointed.
