Bibo brings French fine dining to Hong Kong street level.
I feel like a downer because I keep shooting down the logos on this site. This one looks like someone took a sharpie marker to someone else’s logo.
Aside from being simply aesthetically pleasing, a good logo speaks to the heart and personality of the company for which it represents. Have a look at the websites of any of the logos you’ve shot down and you should gain a greater appreciation for what the logo is doing for the company.
This one, in the context of the restaurant it is for, speaks heaps. Utilizing imagery of the past (architecture, history, etc.) being married to contemporary culture (modern street art, graffiti, etc.) is exactly what the restaurant is all about.
“Creature” too, (which you said you don’t get) is wickedly clever, speaking to the ominous beast just beneath the surface. It’s your imagination that makes the unknown into the ‘creature’ it is. Think Jaws, think Loch Ness. Tap into that imagination and the possibility of the creature is endless.
You just have to see beyond the obvious.
