Appetype is a Typography Social Club where fellow type tragics can feast on inspirational design from around the globe and serve up their own type-based works and discoveries.

The name ‘Appetype’ is a deliberate play on the word appetite and used to describe the idea that lovers of typography continually hunger for more. The logo has has been designed to reflect this concept using a knife and fork with a large bite taken out of the capital A character.

The Appetype logo has been purposefully designed so that the ‘A’ can be regularly renewed to reflect seasonal/social events or feature hand illustrated or digitally treated variations submitted by member’s of the club.

I must agree it does seem like a little too much going on.

I agree: too much going on. I’d try it without the ribbon. Otherwise, great concept.

I don’t like being critical of others work because I know that as a designer you put year hear and soul into your work. I really like the name and the concept, however it could have been much simpler. I would have probably just had the ‘A’ with a bite out and the words APPETYPE beneath it.
