Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs introduced to young national entrepreneurs (18–32 year olds) the Timangi 2010 competition. P&K designed the concept of the logo of a diamond depicting the letter ‘Y’ in the center. The letter ‘Y’ symbolizes the word “yrittäjä” which translates to “entrepreneur” and the name “timangi” is slang for “diamond” in Finnish. The objective by the government ministry is to reward innovative and bold companies in Finland that have grown and provided opportunities to job seekers. P&K were inspired to create a diamond for the competition due to its brilliance, value and uniqueness which highlights the winning company.

Hm.. I like the diamond idea but i think theres too much happening in it. This would be hard to distinguish from a short distance. If you were to remove the ‘Y’ part, i think it would clean it up and make it more understandable.

Cool colours tho!

I like the overall concept; however, I think it is too busy, won’t translate at smaller sizes, and won’t be able to work in black and white.

In my opinion this a little complicated logo design, very hard to remember, I’m saying this only as advice, thanks.

This is nicely done. Based on the elements required I don’t think its too complicated and I think it gets the point across. Good choice in color, I would have preferred the type was a solid color though.
