Japan Tourism Agency. via Travel Agent Central
It’s lovely, but it doesn’t really say anything to me. After reading the description of the logo design, I understand that it has meaning in Japanese culture, but would someone outside of the country get it? As in… a tourist.
There’s a subtle meaning behind those leaves and the nippon sun. I too, same with Glenna, can’t decipher the hidden words that the logo is trying to define.
Perhaps the leaves/flowers are a vague suggestion of the Japanese islands?
Nice enough but doesn’t really say ‘Japan’ nor ‘Tourism’ to me.
Sakura (cherry blossoms) are actually fairly well known outside Japan as well, and many people time their trips to Japan for spring time, so they can see them. They are also significant in Japanese culture, so I think the logo speaks well for itself.
The logo has the red sun of the Japanese flag, and at least I recognized it for something Japan related right away. If this logo doesn’t say ‘Japan’, I wonder what would..? (might have something to do with me having lived in Japan, I don’t know)
I like it.
