You know, as a stand-alone mark, it doesn’t do much for me. But after checking out the implementations, I like it. A lot.
The letterforms are big, bold, edgy, and techy. Just right for saying science is cool and interesting. It’s worthy of a 2nd look–not necessarily immediately understood.
I rarely see the trendy method of stacking a logo like this to be effective. I don’t think this one wins either. The font looks dated already to me, so I can only imagine how it would look in 5 years.
The first ‘E’ doesn’t work for me.
