The idea of the logo is to merge the two symbols: the sign of the section – a symbol of law, paragraphs laws; chessmen of knight – the symbol of non-standard, effective solutions, “move of the knight”. Elegant mark. Good concept, relates well to the business – may be too unclear for those who aren’t as well informed about the symbol and basic chess rules.
I agree with adamo. Beautifully rendered concept (especially once the design process is read) but so obscure that the average person wouldn’t be likely to have a clue as to its meaning. That may not be an issue if the clientele is especially exclusive.
I thought it was a seahorse when I saw it first, albeit a very attractive one… I agree the meaning is a bit obscure for the average person, but it looks nice.
