Café Kølbert’s Comedy Showwaiters was established in Denmark in 1985. Acclaimed as The Best Dining Theatre In The World they soon rose to cult status, performing all their way up to the Danish Royal Court.? Now with a brand new identity, the Comedy Showwaiters present their London branch, starting with the re-launch of their UK site. Comedy Showwaiters UK new website is a very simple static site with a nostalgic design feel, retro and offbeat with a completely custom navigation bar that reflects the whole identity of the site and the company. Each element in the site play around their relation to the logo.

This is a seal standing for the Showwaiters in the pure heraldic tradition. The elements forming this seal play with humour yet are refined.

A Jester’s hat embedded into a Crown standing for the comedy waiters identity.

Three smaller iconic elements complement unique elegant typography in circle.

The Nautical Star, associated with sea and travel, stands for the company’s Nordic
origin and at a more emotional level embodies the dream of the Cafe Kølbert’s / Comedy Showwaiters founders.

The Monogram. Simple, elegant in design, memorable, the monogram can work isolated or combined with the typography, or embodied into the emblem. It is a mark that identify Comedy Showwaiters universe and properties.

The Whistle meaning is twofold: it symbolises the start of the shows – it’s also a witty evocation of the CALL – Showwaiters are indeed for hire.
Thus the new Comedy Showwaiters logo works as a visual key, translating “Comedy Showwaiters’ values, unique approach and offbeat position, a taste from the past as well as an evocation of a travelling mark, humour well delivered, targeting a high-end audience, internationally.”

Too much information and I can’t see what the left icon is. When the logo gets reduced, these icons will barely appear. But i liked the concept.

When it gets smaller you can’t see the text either… :)
but the small icons, along with the text become part of the cercle around the main icon…so I think it is fine.

I like the overall vibe – the gold and pink with the funny hat work well. I’m not keen on the ornaments or typography though.

Just think there is too much going on. The star and the word London can do without.
