very nice concept, but would have been better if except ‘P’, there had been another creative demonstration.

I like this. Agreed the ‘P’ is a little unclear, however it is reinforced with the event title (just not shown on LOTD) which i’m hoping would accompany all their promotional material.
Keeping in mind that this is event branding, not corporate branding. Its targeting a very specific audience and has a very small shelf life. So all-in-all I think this meets the brief quite well.
seems like a nice logo appropriate for a Pharmaceutical Symposium. it’s nice see a fun logo for a serious event.
