Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2010-03-12 | Canada Vietnam

“This is the logo the center of foreign languages, in which the Vietnamese are familiar with Canada and its culture, learn English and French. The concept is a reincarnation of the two characters found within the national flags of countries. Canada – maple leaf, Vietnam – a star. Canada to become Vietnam, Vietnam to become Canada.”

Very worthy logo of the day. Love how the maple leaf becomes the star.

Probably the easiest logo to create in Illustrator.

This reminds me of projects I did in design school: lessons by Wucius Wong – Principles of Two-Dimensional Design.

It reminds me of the Creative Target logo:

I’m really not digging the blend, and the type is uninspiring, but it’s still great somehow!

Clever concept. Not much to look at, at first, but the symbolism of the leaf changing to the star is awesome!

Well spotted, Dirk. It also reminds me of the Creative Target logo.

Odd that you didn’t let my comment of yesterday through. It’s not like I was being fucking offensive or anything. Let’s try again eh? ->

It is like the Creative Target logo – but not as good.

I think that’s what I wrote yesterday. Something like that…

The ‘fucking’ bit was a joke, by the way. Offensive: fucking…

Some more research should have done with the negative connotations of the communist flag star and the Vietnamese community abroad.

This is a terribly uninspiring logo. I get the concept, but it feels so first-thought and forced.

Adamo said it best – uninspiring.

Thanks for the comments guys!
I really did’t expect such a response. Logo was actually created on the fly. Most time was spent on introduction to Vietnamese typography and language at the same time:) In the future I will try to create a more inspired logos. Thank you everyone!
