No, this is a symbol and the client will read it as "oh, this is the dot-code-snake logo, I know it!" But does it make swoosh a silly logo? :) Also I don't think that any logotype should stand out of the crowd - by crowd you mean urban crowd or crowded poster with tens of other logos?
