Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2009-11-01 – Libertine Supersport

“The club is divided in two different clubs:
the “Libertine“:
softer music, a place for chillin’
the “Supersport”:
more club, a place to dance.

The logo represents those two moods with this illustration that can be reversed:
The lady with black hair for libertine & the other underneath for Supersport.

Types were drawn for the logo. (they are quite simple because the illustration is already complicated)”

I love the idea, but not sure the majority of people would see it without the explanation. Maybe if you could somehow have the two faces facing the same way (like Two Face from Batman kind of thing) it would be more recognizable.

I have to agree with Carson. Who flips a logo over? The other way that could probably be accomplished is by having Supersport upside down as well. Not sure if that would help the logo though. There is just so much going on with this one. Bit too detailed of an illustration for my tastes for logo design.
I wonder what the sign for the club would actually look like?
On the (Meatpack’s) website, I do like the patterned use of the triangular shape. I also like the neon sign, except it doesn’t fall into the branding whatsoever.

I like this logo! I disagree with some of the comments. I like the fact it isn’t daringly obvious, there is no need to put both of them on top just because people supposedly don’t flip over logos. The emphasis is built around the contrasting styles which the club caters for. It’s your ying and yang, light and dark, your above ground and underground. I think its fine the way it is.

Since you’ve adopted certain modern day fashion elements within the logomark you may find yourself changing it in the years to come …Or Maybe its just me – but I don’t thing oversized sunglasses and retro headbands will be timeless forever.

I think the typeface has got room for improvement, again it seems to be the fashionable font choice – the retro clubber look. But it will date.

Nice work though

It’s more like an illustration (a cool one), rather than a logo. At first I thought the woman has a very weird chin.

Far too complex for a logo. If it’s is used on anything other than printed material such as a sign then it’s not going to be possible to flip it over.

The human mind is programmed to recognise faces no matter where they appear, be it in a cloud or a piece of toast but if you flip the face then that instant recognition is gone, it took me a while to get the logo and even then I did think it was a clever solution.

If the sunglasses we’re removed from the bottom face then maybe the eyes would make the illustration easier to understand – and anyway what right minded person wears sunglasses in a club.

This is a super amazing START to the logo, but I agree it might need to be simplified at bit.

The illustration of the woman who is vertically “on top” is great and can just be expanded over the rest of what makes up the logo triangle.

This is a really nice logo and definitely exudes vibes of club, but over time could benefit from small tweaks.

I do have to agree that this logo is a little too busy and the typeface and treatment are forgettable.

Although, after following the link and looking at this logo in the pattern triangle image I think this logo is way better upside down, with the triangle pointed downward. The dark hair at the bottom of the logo brings your attention downward and makes a lot more sense to the viewer. Also you immediately see the other face without having to look too hard. Is it too late to flip flop?
