“National September 11 Memorial & Museum At The World Trade Center” is the successor to “World Trade Center Memorial Foundation.” Mercifully, Landor shortened its communicative name, then gave it a logo that is direct and (when you see blue sky) gut-wrenching. Source

yeah, that’s like the first thing that comes to mind, and also the best way.
i see this is the font the obama campaign used.
I like it. Simple yet to the point.
I saw this logo over the weekend on television and I even commented to myself how much I liked it, glad to see it make it on LOTD.
Good design is simple. Great design is also memorable. This then goes a step further – AKA the twist. Nice! You first see the two (twin) towers in the 11, but why are they blue? Then the wow factor surprise! (The twist). SKY blue and not there anymore – the space they have left!! Love it.
love it.
btw, paniq, what is the typeface used in obama’s campaign? thx b4
Very nice logo. I saw the 11 as a pause button, as in pause for thought for the memorial, then after I saw the twin towers.
