Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2009-09-12 | Graf Fidi

“The Logo was the starting point for the corporate design of the German rap artist “Graf Fidi”. We designed his logo, business cards, website (+programming), artwork for his CD and press releases.

Graf Fidi is a handicapped rapper. He needs a wheelchair to move forward and also sits in his wheelchair on stage.
The Logo is a mixture of a wheelchair pictogramme and the initial “G”. The microphone / person / “i” in the wheelchair shows the rap artist.”

A logo is works like a joke, if you have to explain…isn’t funny.

you should have placed the mic as extension to the horizontal line of the “G”…

I got the idea almost immediately and was actually looking through the commentary to see if it was a right representation. Nicely done.

I stared at the logo for a moment and got the G and the Mic, and thought it was pretty good, then I said to my self, wait a minute, this reminds me of the universal wheelchair sign, no good… then I read the explanation and found out it was indeed for a handicapped artist. Very well done!

Well, read the comments above. It’s a logo for a handycapped rapper. I had a look at his website http://www.graffidi.de, and he seems to perform on stage in his wheelchair.

I think this logo is a success :)

This is probably the first and last time we’ll see Avante Garde and rap mixing it up to great success, or at all! Very, very clever mark.

It seems a lot of people don’t read the concept / about the artist. Therefor they seem to vote bad, thats a shame because i think it’s a great logo!

Nicely done! Very well thought out.
Aesthetically it probably could be worked on a bit, but still, great job!

As a disabled woman AND a designer in a wheelchair myself, I knew exactly what it was representing immediately. In fact I’ve designed a similar logo for a quadriplegic award winning Hip Hop DJ. However, I used a very different font and the client was a woman.

For those of you who asked what the wheelchair was for, next time try reading the description as not to sound ignorant.
