The Chase logomark was designed in 1961 by Chermayeff & Geismar.

What I don’t know, is who spearheaded the 2005 redesign, which included the revised logotype. Was it Sandstrom Partners, who is credited here? Their website lists Chase as a client, but I can’t find any mention of the Chase redesign on their site

Any information would be appreciated.

I’m trying to figure out by myself what the “octagon” in this logo represents. I like the logo and not necessarily the bank but I’m curious to know what’s behind it. Thanks!

I’ve always loved the Chase logo, everyone knows the company by the octagon alone. I love the subtle way the text feeds into the logo with it’s geometric angles. It is so simple yet so effective. This logo is like 40 years old too, you’d never know it. This will still be Chase’s logo in a another 40 years. This is what timeless design is all about.

Despite the evil that surrounds the company BEHIND the logo. Conceptually it is a nice logo. If Chase gave a way free money we would all have a different opinion of the logo. But take a good hard unbiased look at the logo. The font characteristics the angles are mimicked in the logos octagon shape…Forget that it is a bank and look at the design. See what bad press does for a company. @poshbyjones

I used to hate their commercials so bad. The one where they sing “Ahm fwee to do what I wawnt any oooold tahm.”

I never really put much thought to their logo. Does it depict 4 half-arrows pointing in a circle? Or did they sort of accidentally depict that? Or am I missing something else?

You may hate the bank, but the mark has always kept me looking. I always caught myself staring whenever I’d pass it on my way past the capitol.

The new sign of evil. Cold + technical.. representing a soul less bank with horror interest rates. They just should have stayed out of California.
