@Marc

I absolutely agree with Euan, Daniel, Jeff. Your post comes of as smarmy, witless and "uninspired". And if you only make logos that you like, then I guess I feel sorry for your clients. Hopefully they like it too, after all it's their money.

This projects the image of a very classy, refined and of people with seriously good taste.

When I want to redecorate and redesign, I'm looking for people whose taste I thrust. This reflects on the logo.

My guess is that this interior design firm is high-end and making a lot of money! Their logo speaks louder than some might want to admit.

While it doesn't say what the business is literally, it does tell me that this is a high class and respectable product/service. I think the logo works better without the stone background, other then that its very elegant.

Sure, it may be exactly what the client wanted, but if the client wanted something like this, why is it on Logo of the Day? 1/5

I agree with Euan 100%. At the end of the day we work to what the client wants as they are the one paying for it.

@Euan, I completely agree. One of my logos were selected to be on LOTD a while back, and there was much debate on this same topic. Good design is ALWAYS about helping your client solve their problem, not yours...

As designers, we use our skills to help guide in execution, but ultimately, if the client provides a brief that states their challenges and the "pretty" logo we wanted to create doesn't get the job done, then we might as well have not done on at all.

We need more people around this place that think this way.

some people that visit this place have some serious sand in their vaginas.

Regarding what the logo is for and how it could be applied is great and not to mention that you, Marc, have no idea what the client was like, maybe they wanted a very specific style and this captured what they wanted perfectly.

Real logo design for clients isn't always a case of making something pretty, most of the time its a case of accomplishing a clients visions.

I have made logos that were to a very specific brief and have worked very hard to create something that the clients loves however although others may not like it, they do not know of the difficult and lengthy process it can be when working with a client.

Rather bland and un inspiring. Could be pretty much everything.. a flower shop, a female real estate agent, a cosmetics line. Lacks personality. Just because it looks like a logo, doesn't mean it is one. Nice try
