I’ve never associated Pears with bakeries before… I don’t really get it.
Also, I guess the rooster was part of a previous logo or design, because once more I can’t really think of the link between: “Pear, Rooster and Bakery”.
anyone care to clear it up for me?

I like the style and overall feel of the logo, but I agree with DChuck – no idea what the pear and cock have to do with it? and would have never guessed it was for a bakery.
Found this on the designers website:
“Identity created for Anjou Bakery. Surrounded by pear orchards in Cashmere, WA, Anjou Bakery provides quality artisanal breads and pastries from scratch”
Not sure if that qualifies as a good enough reason for me to have a pear in the logo for me – but then I have never been to Cashmere, WA. Do they specialise in bread incorporating pears?

They make fruit bread that contains pieces of pears in the bread.
Anjou is a type of pear so I’m guessing that’s where the pear comes in. The rooster, I’m not so sure about other than bakers usually wake up a lot earlier than most people.

I love the idea to don’t have a bread to represent a backery and as Jeff said before, there are different types of bread made from fruits…so, I love it!
It seems to have the right feeling, but like many others, I’m curious about the whys of the elements of the logo.
I’m guessing that the rooster has to do with the morning – when things are fresh baked.
I looked up Anjou in Wikipedia, the Anjou is a type of pear. Also, Cashmere, WA, where the bakery is located, has a lot of pears. So the clientele, who are local, will probably get the connection.
All a bit oblique, I know. But still a decent logo.
You do have a point. It doesn’t even have to be that much smaller. I originally taught that there was writing in the …grass I guess… on each sides of the rooster.
I taught they were dates or something like that. Zooming in the image doesn’t really break my impression, but I can’t make out what is written.

….and the bread is delivered by roosters?

Really nice logo….
too busy – make it any smaller and the image is lost
I like seal and crest logos.
EJ SCHULTZ SAYS IT BEST…

I really like this logo. Its elegant, the color works for it, although some people may think its bland. I think this is a really good design overall.
It does not say bakery to me but it is a great looking logo. Steve made me laugh… and the bread is delivered by roosters
Looking at the logo again, I don’t care if I don’t get it because the design is so attractive I would just buy bread from them anyway!
