Logo Of The Day Award Winner:

2009-07-01 | Ka Hana Pono

Ka Hana Pono Daycare is a childcare center located on the north side of Oahu, Hawaii. They offer childcare services to children ages 2-5.

The logo was inspired by an ancient Hawaiian metaphor. Elders would create Koa Bowls for newly born children. When the children would reach a certain age, the elders would teach them that the Koa Bowls give off light, which metaphorically speaking, represents a child’s potential.

Designer: Arak Arakaki

this one is really busy.

I like the art value in this… but I really think it is overtaught and overcomplicated to be an efficient logo.

Something could have been built with negative space between the two characters instead of clogging it with art elements.

Like I said, I like the work of art on this one, but I wouldn’t use this as a logo.

like the idea but to messy…to many colors…to many elements…hard to be distinguished…

I think it’s really good. I don’t think a logo for a childcare should be simple or easy looking. That wouldn’t convey that the place is about children and play.

It could maybe work for a poster, but not for a logo, too many elements…
