I never made those connections consciously either. Maybe that’s a good thing. You don’t want to walk away whistling the logo and forget who it represents.
Never even thought about the meaning behind it. I just remeber hearing the meaning behind the name (because the world of online retail is a jungle) and wondered why a more tree like aspect wasn’t used. I like this more though. Well done!

woa… never noticed anything from the description before.
pretty clever I guess, but I think this is also the kind of logo that was made popular by the product (see McDonalds)and clever marketing rather than standing out on its own.
It still has its merits and you know what to type in your browser window when you see it!
Not a great logo, in my opinion. Familiarity makes it seem better than it is. It would have been interesting to see people’s opinions were this some unknown wannabe Internet company.
perfect.
I honestly never noticed either the a to z, or the smile. Maybe it’s just because I see it so often I don’t pay attention to it. Great logo though =)
Also never noticed the a to z!
