I just don’t like it…

Nice as an image, but too intricate for a logo. At a small size, or B/W it would look very poor.

I agree with the others. This does not work as a logo. I can see it being for promotional materials, but in no way as a logo. The sizing issues are also a problem here.

I do like the way everything is treated, but I thought this was supposed to be some of the best of the best logos. Who’s behind this website? Are they real designers? No offense.

One of the worst I have seen out here for a logo, and there have been plenty of bad ones… Better for an ad than a logo by far.

Not my favorite, but I think most of these comments are written by people that stick to old logo conventions. I think it works for what it is. And since its only going on a website, its probably not going to be reduced much more than that nor have to be shown in black and white. The days of faxing are over. Last time I checked emails were in color…

I don’t think it works well as a “logo”, its more of a header image in its current form. I agree with the fact it wouldn’t work well in B&W or in a reduced form. True it may only be used for the website, but what if you wanted promotional material to go along with the site? any print based promotion might be easier to have in a 2 colour process or even screen printing on clothing. I think when it comes to Logo design these things have to be kept in mind, as for the use here is only for a website, it doesn’t allow for much expansion for this logo to be used in other applications as I’ve mentioned.

Is it?

I’m going to differ from the rest of the group here and affirm that this is definatly a logo… and a good one.

Problem is I don’t see how a company makes money by photographing bottles…

But the logo in and of itself is very explicit. Catches the eye and puts out of alpha sleep into Beta alert.

Hell it triggers a reaction (even if it is a bad one) in the design community that is used to seeing THOUSANDS of different logos (bad and good alike) so IMO, it is an AWESOME work.

P.S. I still can’t figure out how photographing bottles qualifies as a way to make money.

What can I say that hasn’t been said? My first thought was “This is a logo?”

this name has so much potential! what a hell was the designer thinking? yes, the logo is very poor!

My comment about being B/W does not neccesarily mean that – but you should think about the logo in different contexes e.g. Seeing a logo from far away, or very small – having to have the logo printed on a business card or similar.

It would be interesting to see if the effect still works if the text is warped, but the logo is not present.

I think this is simply not a logo, but I like the communication behind this!

I agree with the negative reactions here. I just can’t see this as a logo in different contexts. Sure, it is a nice graphic design, but as a logo? One more thing, how did it get in here? I thought Logo of the Day are of the best designs out there, then how did this slip through. Really wondering about that. I think a lot of better designs are sent but they choose this. Hmmmm…. A friend of the judges? I dunno… I wouldn’t know unless one of the judges reply to this post.

Just my 2 cents.

Wow, you’re all such negative Nancy’s aren’t you?! Haha! your whinging is worse than my parents when they hear pop music on the radio.

Private, Aslam, Tom, K, Nikhil – what exactly is the point of your somewhat useless posts? Lol besides pointing out that you’re all designers limited by old conventions. (Don’t worry you’ll be fine ;-) Plenty of boring accountants and lawyers out there who would love your work!)

I believe this logo deserves more merit than its receiving. Its aesthetics are great! Its blunt, to-the-point communication and works fantastic with its brother site ‘we shoot cans’ Great work!
