I feel like they’re trying too hard with the combined “Modern” and “Nerd” in the type. I like the logo as a whole, and the mark is fun, but I just think they’re trying to be too clever when a simpler solution would probably work better.

I like the idea, the time is okay, but I don’t think the hair do is nerdy enough for modern nerd. I think greasy slicked hair parted in the middle would be better. Maybe a pocket protector that’s integrated some how into the “n” in modern?

I don’t think logos without a brief can stand up with those of an actual organisation. You can interprate the context, the type of business where the logo may fit into.

It is an OK logo, but I am not a huge fan of the typography.

Fantastic! The “NERD” in the type is one of those that you don’t really see at first, but when you do you can’t help but look at it every time. Only one thing bugs me just a bit. Do nerds really have hair that cool? But the logo is awesome regardless.

This logo has been floating around for some time now. I’m surprised to find out it is for sale on IncSpring and not an established brand. The icon is simple and very recognizable. The thing that really gets me is the awesome solution for the text. The combination of the D and N could have gone very badly, but this typeface helps to keep both letters recognizable. There would need to be a decent amount or marketing to establish the full “Modern Nerd” company name (for those having trouble seeing it), but overall I think this logo is well designed and could be used in a variety of tech (or related) fields.

I kind of like the image, but after looking at the typography I though the same way as Metal, But another look shows that it spells out Modern Nerd … not bad, not bad at all.
