Not every logo needs to be a direct representation of what an organization does. At the very least, a successful logo should be relevant to the character of the organization (or the character they wish to convey) and the people that they service.

The color and shapes in the logo do play off of the latin-sounding name, and it has a classical, distinguished feel. I think this works reasonably well. Sometimes, trying to cram too much meaning into a logo is a recipe for failure.

I think the typeface looks a little silly and unstructured. Not something I would like for a legal firm. As for the 'V' shape... It's okay, but it's not spectacular.

This logo is one of many examples out there of a pretty picture that doesn't serve a dedicated purpose.

Shure those two shapes add up to make a V (for verbalegis I would guess), but it is written next to it. If you want to market this V for people to recognize it, it'll cost a fortune.

It would have been better if there was a link between the company and the logo. Like a V made with a folder in perspective or something. Worse come to worse, two justice scales angled down in the center making the V shape in negative space. And that is just to keep the V idea, which is not completely necessary (unless the customer asks for it.)
