I think I would need a better explanation or see it in use to “get” this logo. As it is right now, I can’t say I’m a big fan.

I think it’s meant to look like one of those old-fashioned lifeguard rings turned into a G, except it doesn’t look like either (30 seconds on Google would show you how it should look). And the designer’s web site is trying to install a trojan onto my system.
I can notice a change in the “density” of the G… kind of like if it is a solid material on the left and a fabric or rope hanging on the right. Do that make sense? That makes the logo kind of cool to me and I think that allows a nice “eye navigation” through it, but nothing to talk about later on the day
@QF: Dude, I appreciate your honesty, your kinda attacking in the tone. And what’s with the trojan on my site? 30 seconds on Google would show you, that it’s Google Analytics – not a trojan.
Well, it’s not the best logo I’ve done and I really didn’t think it would get the logo of the day award. I’m really excited it got picked though. Thanks Jeff and Jacob!
I love it. I love the simplicity and the modern mark against the serif typeface. Personally, I don’t need the shape to “be” anything. It’s their mark. I get “rescue” from the red/white. Besides, it’s always hard to judge the meaning of a logo mark outside of any additional visual branding context.

Mads,
With all due respect, why do I have to go searching on Google to find our your web site isn’t trying to install a virus on my system? Do you expect potential clients to do the same thing? It’s simple – AVG tells me there’s a problem with a web site, I don’t visit it. Plenty of sites use Google Analytics, yours is the first to cause an issue.
@Grant: Exactly. That was kinda the idea, so thanks for pointing that out.
@QF: I just think your sending out the wrong picture. I’m a designer, not a hacker/trojandude. I got AVG myself, my host is the top hoster in Denmark and this is the first time I hear something like that. But sure, I’m gonna check it out. Can you give me the exact warning message? And dude, no hard feelings.

Mads,
No, no hard feelings at all. I don’t think you’re a hacker, I think perhaps you’ve done something funky with the code on your web site and it’s potentially alienating some visitors.
@QF: Aight, I’ve contacted the supporter of my host. Hopefully they will figure out what’s causing this issue. I’m glad there isn’t any hard feelings. Have a very nice day dude.
Now, back on the logo issue… I have to second Grant with the red/white and its meaning and/or what it conveys. That was one of the first thing that I could extract from my perception of the logo. The color along with what I said on my previous post makes an overall good logo for me.

I think it’s not a perfect logo but it’s great for what it does.
I think it’s one of those “thats what the customer wanted” case and IMO if the customer is happy, that’s all you need.

I’m getting two errors:
mabu.dk/ – Trojan Horse Downloader.Generic_C.AJH
mabu.dk/favicon.ico – Trojan Horse Downloader.Generic_C.AJH
