I saw the closed eyes first, then I read Sloop, then I saw it was sleep. I won’t be as aggressive as others may be but there is still work to be done on this one.

I agree with DChuck – a bit more work and Sloop will be gone
I have to agree that the ‘ee’ looks like ‘oo’. Maybe if the e’s had a little more shape to them. Eyes aren’t exactly circular, and neither are e’s. I would work in that vein.
Aptly named… I like the concept, but this one puts me to sleep. I also think the “s” should be wider to compete with the thickness of the “e”s, and the “p”… that would help it have more balance.
I keep reading “sleep” every first time I see the logo. I start reading sloop the minute I observe it (eventough I’ve just read “sloop” in the Facebook comments for the feed). Doesn’t it make it kinda memorable? I think it does.
I agree with the 20 minutes timeframe for the came up with a look for that particular concepto, tough.

the 2 e’s look like the eyes and the word records look like the mouth of a robot’s face.
the p can be one ear.
what an ugly p!
@ Abbas Arezoo : Not necessarily…this can aid in creating recognition. The viewer gets to spend a little more time looking at the logo. Not to mention, once you know what it says, you can’t forget it. The majority of the general public never even knew an arrow was a part of the FedEx logo. But once they did, it quickly become one of the most talked about and clever logotypes out there. Just my two cents.
It does read “sleep” in a glance. But technically it reads as “sloop” especially when staring at it. If it’s part of the plan, it is definitely a great design since it forces the audience to have a second thought and make itself memorable to the viewer by creating a controversy and gain exposure. No wonder this logo is flooded by comments. =)
Despite looking like ‘Sloop’ I don’t think the E looks like an eye. The minimalist style has neither accentuated the eyes, or emphasised the E.
I was hoping for an LP, shaped like a crescent moon, but that’s just me

ZZZZZZZ… Boring!!!

WoW WoW WoWwww!!!

The “e’s” make my eyes hurt! I think it would have been slightly better with curved “eye lids” and leaving a proper gap for the e tail.
It may not be readable at first, but it’s still a very clever logotype. Some people can be so harsh.
that’s the problem, it needs to be readable at first.
This is inspirational, is it? What are we supposed to be inspired by? The unreadable company name? The dull font choice? The poor kerning?
i’ll be totally against …i just loved it…it is simple and catch!!!!
I think it’s a really great piece of concept work. Not only does it represent eyes but it could also convey sleeping pills. Very memorable.
Thats a very good articulation of what I was trying to say Sean. I totally agree with you. The e/o eyes just seems to be R.E.Ming!
