I like the logo a lot.

@Simon, I think the very best logos are the ones that look really simple. A correct mark swoosh, a shell, 3 diamonds, 5 coloured rings intertwined.

It looks bubbly more appropriate for some beverage than arts and culture. Also the bubbles are so small that you don't see it good, only when it is used very big. I bet when you print it for letterhead you just see an A in a single color and the bubbles disappear unless you use a oversize logo on a letterhead. And it's not a very new design have seen other with bigger circles with same thing going on.

I think it might be a little too close to the Anti Particle logo. http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/7756 . Plus, I feel that Anti Particle has a more in-depth concept behind it. Or, may be I am just biased since I saw Anti Particle first?

IMO the detail in the 'a' works well - you don't see it at first but definitely adds an 'artistic' touch.

Also I find it can be difficult to form a well-rounded opinion on stand-alone logos, they don't always 'come alive' until used in context.

@Leif:
Sorry I meant THIS site, logooftheday lacking link to home page from logo.

What of Alliance logo - it feels like some other version on allianceforarts.com, its on green background, and that alone makes it looks different. The whole concept is changed.

Simon,
Why does the method in which you use to produce a logo have anything to do with how the "brand is reflected"?

Leif,
I have since updated the logo with the new one you provided.

Well, I feel silly!

The image that I submitted to Logo of the Day must have been an early version of the logo. Obviously, the typo was corrected before the logo made its way onto the actual Alliance for Arts & Culture website.

@pain:
I'm not sure what you mean... the (large) logo in the header of www.allianceforarts.com does link back to the home page.

And why on this site there is no link in header logo leading to a home page. 'Home' is barely noticeable in the bar above.

Thanks for featuring one of our logos! Our designer, Richard Hatter, did a great job on this one!

My favorite thing about this logo is how well it scales. It looks great on a business card or on a huge poster. You can see the detail better in this larger version: http://hiredgunscreative.com/img/logos/arts-alliance.jpg

Cheers!

Helvetica+brushes+clipping mask. It's too simple to be a logo. There's nothing that reflect the brand.
