“The logo is for a great project called Toolani, a service, that offers inexpensive telephony around the world. The name is derived from the word ‘tulani’ which is Indian and stands for ‘endless’ which is why I chose to combine the double O with an infinite loop. As the project was considered to be a web 2.0-style website, the main goal was to choose a unique typography, that’s still simple.“

Would’ve been nice to see a rounder infinity symbol, more like Os. Kerning could be tightened up a little on the right hand side.
Somewhat off-topic, but I’m wondering how much the effects applied to a lot of the logos here affects how people react to them. How would this one look, for instance, without the bevel, gradient and shadow? How would the Fubiz one from a couple of days ago stand up without its background?
I could see the logo would be a bit light when scaled down. I also don’t quite get the reason to place a gray logo on a gray background. It might be totally lost without the shadow effect. I see QF’s point that all the trendy effects may have leveraged its visual impact. But the question is to what degree? Does it work well across print applications?
Overall I still quite like the simplicity of the concept. I think this is a working solution, which I suppose the main application of the logo is online. It has that energetic and eye-catching factors of a logo should be.
thanks for the critiques, for scaled down versions, we use to take just the infinite loop, which gives a lot of freedom to play around with and yes, it’s mostly used for screen purposes. to be honest, it hasn’t been used for print at all yet, except the letterhead at the printable bill, but it works good there though.

fun stuff… here in quebec a company called Videotron uses something “similar”
their slogan is “Cable’s infinit possibilities” and their main color has been yellow for years so they use a yellow infinite symbol.
